Tips for finding an apprenticeship

When you start looking for an apprenticeship, it is very important that you register as an apprenticeship seeker with the AMS (Public Employment Service). The AMS for young people under 25 is responsible for young people in Vienna at Lehrbachgasse 18, 1120 Vienna. You can get an appointment for counselling by calling tel: 01 /878 71. You can also go there directly and make an appointment! (Opening hours: Mon-Thu 8-15:30, Fri 8-13

If you are still at school, the BerufsInformationsZentrum (BIZ) near your home is responsible for your registration:

There are job advertisements in newspapers when companies are looking for apprentices. Walk the streets with your eyes open! Very often companies put up signs: Apprentice wanted!

Tell as many people as possible (friends, acquaintances, relatives) about your dream job. Often apprenticeships are found through private contacts!
