basis is a low-threshold counselling service for young women* aged about 16 to 25. We help quickly, free of charge and anonymously in all situations. Our multilingual and multiprofessional team accompanies them in their dealings with the authorities, supports them with applications, in their search for accommodation and in financial matters. We are also there to help with health or mental stress, family and relationship problems, as well as professional and social concerns.
Our rooms are a consumption-free zone/safe space, computers and the internet can be used, there are opportunities to eat and drink, as well as to pursue personal hygiene. The premises are barrier-free. Young women* can drop in at any time during opening hours without registration or making an appointment by phone and email. Registration for chat counselling is done online. The counselling sessions are non-binding and free of charge, and anonymous if desired. If required, we offer childcare during counselling.
The counselling team at basis consists of psychologists, pedagogues, social workers and communication trainers. We offer multilingual counselling in German, BKS, Turkish, Arabic, English, Spanish and Austrian sign language.
It is our concern to sensitively and sustainably increase the social participation and self-efficacy of young women* in the most diverse life situations and realities. We also see our work as a political mandate. Digital youth work via social media and high-profile campaigns are therefore also part of basis programme.
